I bought a new way to control robots : the Myo armband
this armband can measure the direction of your forarm with an integrated IMU but also can identify some poses of your hand using neural plates analysing your muscle activities.
I received it but the SDK with the same level of Leap Motion.
Is there any API available for Linux? Afaik, those devices are not Open Source and don’t try to be hackable…

I tested the Myo device to command Poppy but I was very disappointed by the false detections.
For example :
If you want to use Myo as a music player :
you install the device on your arm (it is very strong and not very confortable, you feel your blood circulation)
you must wait 2-3 minutes so that the plates sensor get warm enough and get contact with your muscles
you activate the myo (sometimes with difficulties doing difficult gestures)
then you can make the gesture to play music, go to next musique or stop music
it works
you are happy
then you go to wash the dishes
the music go up and down, get to the next more than 20 times, volume+ and volume - spurious
crazy hell
you remove the device
There is some more work to do here.

You seem to point hardware problem and not only software. I’ve never tried this device, I’m sad to read your feedback
