Nanomade is a company I met which builds force sensors with mapping using nano technology.
Comparing to classical FSR sensors:

  • the mapping can be done (nano-tech)
  • the cost is lower
  • the sensor can be 3D printed
  • since there is a resistive change, the time response is very fast.

Moreover, this company is Toulousaine (saucisse, rugby and red briquettes)

I let you imagine what can be done with this kind of sensors to make a good foot (or skin)

Interesting but it seems it requires quite a lot of wire to get a multipoint mapping. I wonder if it could scale for a building a robotic skin ?
