We are starting to construct Poppy in the institution where I work in Brazil. Has Anyone tryed to construct it using another material, like PLA or ABS? How it impacts on actuators?
The material won’t change so much the behavior of the robot but the current Poppy Humanoid parts are not very optimized to be printed with low cost PLA/ABS 3D printers. You can do it but it is a challenge itself 
The way we do is using meshmixer to create supports, then hope your printer won’t fail during the 10h of printing:
