Is it possible to replace Robotis actuators by stronger ones?

Hi,
Robotis Dynamixels are great motors and current model selections are good but not enough to carry batteries or walk itself without a support.
I am really curious about making it with Dynamixel MX-106 and MX-64 motors for legs and other critique parts. I know sizes and weights of the motors differ so the design must be replaced with stronger one.

Maybe “Poppy: the Hercule” model can be another progress :slight_smile:

Yep it is possible and it is quite easy to do.

Actually, several parts are already designed to be compatible with MX-28 or MX-64. Not with MX-106 because of the price (500$), but it would be possible also.

For the moment, it is only on our private branches, but if you want them, it is possible push them in the public repository.
